PAWS Goes Global!

PAWS has been chosen as one of the four organisations for a special appeal week. Two musicians whose radio shows are heard all over Britain and the US, are dedicating a week of programming to animal welfare charities, beginning on Saturday 29th October.

Terry Knott and Mark Kerr are both members of the Blues Hall of Fame, and describe themselves are “huge animal lovers.” Terry is based in London and Mark in Louisiana (the proud owner of eight dogs, seven of which are rescues!). Their shows not only go out on dozens of radio stations, but are also streamed live on the internet and hence are available all over the world. Heart FM on the Costa del Sol will carry their Blues shows on Monday 31st October and Wednesday 2nd November at 21.00.

If you can't access any of the broadcasts, a podcast will be available here for download around 13th November.

They originally chose the UK’s RSPCA and the US’s Blistered Whiskers as the two national charities they would support, but added PAWS as a result of their shows in Spain. They have now made Animals in Distress in Coin the final recipient.

Heart FM will be running announcements not only during the show but throughout it’s programming this week, urging listeners to get behind the charities and support them. Terry sent a special message to PAWS last weekend: “We hope from the bottom of out hearts that you gain some much needed support from this. Good luck & thank you so much for all you do.”

But if you missed the shows, you can still contribute. The two Hall of Famers have released a special CD to coincide with the broadcasts. All proceeds will go to the named charities. The player for it is below, with a link to download and buy the album.
