Linus is latest addition to Paws’ select group of sponsored dogs. He and his sister were found abandoned in a cardboard box during a thunderstorm, at the foot of one of the Cabrera mountains. They were trembling and terrified when found by a nearby householder, who took them in and cared for them briefly.

They were no more than puppies of 9-10 weeks. Unable to offer them a permanent home, she took them to a local vet who passed them on to Paws.

The Paws’ shelter was full, so the puppies were found foster homes as a temporary measure. Linus was unused to any human contact, and had to be fed by hand in the early days. Because of this it was decided he would need particular care, house training and an extensive period of socialisation to calm his fears.

Since then he has made tremendous progress. He still lives with his original foster family, but is very happy and settled in familiar surroundings. His food and medical care continues to be supplied by Paws.

Linus is just one more example of the terrible treatment which unwanted animals can suffer at the hands of callous humans. And equally he is an inspiring example of what Paws, with the help of faithful supporters, can achieve in restoring them to a full and rewarding life.
