Hi! My name is Tilly!

Breed: Female Tortoiseshell.
Age: born June 2009.

Tilly was one of three young siblings found on a holday complex when they were only a month old. They had been fed by a Scottish couple who handed them over to PAWS when they had to return home. Polly, the boldest of the three, was the first to be homed, in January 2010. Another sister Sami followed in June - one of the first PAWS cats to be adopted in Germany where her new family fell instantly in love with her.

Which left poor Tilly on her own. Despite the fears of the shelter staff that she might pine away, it was the making of her! Released from her sisters' shadow she became much more independent, and even michievous. First, she formed a close bond with another shelter cat, Jack, and for nearly a year they became inseparable. When Jack was found a really good home in Germany in mid-2011, the cat volunteers again feared she might go into a decline. So she was formally made the shelter's "outside cat" with free run of the roof area and the garden surrounding the cattery. And she has finally blossomed into full independence!.

She is eating really well, and nowdays she can often be seen sitting out in the sunshine like the Queen of the Garden - or gazing down on us from the height of the the cattery roof, or the olive tree or the covered pergola. She hasn't forgotten the other cats, and can still be seen sometimes playing with them through the mesh. And at night she can slip through her own private cat flap to her bed indoors.

Tilly's journey, full of ups and downs, makes her a fitting representative of all the others who pass through PAWS' care before being moved on to new homes.
